Slany Ashling Ballard, 15, of Greeley, Colorado passed away February 19, 2020. Slany was born on August 26, 2004 in Longmont, Colorado to Erin Anderson and Dan Ballard.

Slany was so many things to the people in her life. She was beautiful, bright, caring, sweet, inquisitive, and artistic. She wanted to be a world traveler and was able to make it to her favorite place, Paris. Her family described her as a ‘dog whisperer,’ and butterflies were always flocking to her. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.

Slany means healthy, and Ashling means dream and vision. She was treasured everyday of her life, and is loved and missed immensely by all who knew her.

Slany is survived by her parents Erin (Dakota) Steed and Dan (Anna) Ballard; sisters, Aodhan and Amanda; brothers, Robert and Trevor; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.

Service will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 4 pm at Trinity Baptist Church; 904 Atwood St, Longmont, Colorado 80501. There will be a potluck meal provided.

Please come as you are, no need to dress up. Slany lived in her Van’s and a hoodie, feel free to come that way as well.

In lieu of any flowers or gifts, please donate blood, a monetary gift to a suicide prevention organization, or volunteer at your local animal shelter in honor of Slany.
