Obituary

Macgregor ‘Mac’ George, 46, passed away February 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by family after courageously battling pancreatic cancer for 17 months.

He was born January 11, 1974 in Juneau, Alaska to David and Jean (Gray) George. Mac moved with his family to Aurora, CO in 1987 and graduated from Gateway High School in 1993. He was an accomplished athlete in wrestling, baseball and football. He attended Fort Lewis College. They have lived in Longmont since 2000. Mac had been a milkman and supervisor, delivering for Royal Crest Dairy for 15 years. He was a member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mac enjoyed golfing with his father in law and bowling with friends in the Monday night leagues. He was a fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. He was a huge fan and devotee of Star Wars movies and memorabilia.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and Uncle Don. Mac is survived by his wife Leslie; daughter Lizzie; mother Jean Edmondson, (Dan); brother Jim George, (Janet); sister Jenny George, (Brian); and many other loving family members.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont, CO. My heart was sadden over your loss and I wanted to send my warmest condolences to the family. To lose a loved one, a part of your life, can bring such overwhelming grief but the God of all comfort tells us at 2 Kings 20:5 he hears our prayers, he sees our tears, and he feels our pain. At jw.org we can read John 5:28, 29 that you will have him in your life once again. May all the memories you have give you calm and peace to help you through the dark moments until God’s promises come true. Again so very sorry for your heartache.

Dear Leslie and family,
You have my deepest sympathies for the loss of Mcgregor. I was saddened to hear that he was so sick. I'm glad that I got to talk to him before his death.
I've included a team photo from 1993. Sorry it's sideways and so black. We had a great team and he was right in the mix of it. We always counted on Mac to fight the good fight and to represent our team with grit and pride. I told him how valuable he was to our team and how well he was fighting his battle with cancer. I'm sorry that he lost but I'll always remember him as a great competitor and team member.
All the best,
Coach George Coker
