Obituary

Frank “Jim” Kunna, 71, of Longmont, Colorado passed away on February 19, 2020.

Jim was born on August 28, 1948 in New Jersey to Frank and Matilda (Harris) Kunna. He grew up in New Jersey, and moved to Colorado at the age of 18 to attend Colorado State University. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, and worked for the USDA in the Food Safety Inspection Service for 38 years until his retirement in 2012.

Jim loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed fishing. He spent lots of time taking his daughter to camp and fish in North Park over the years. He was also an avid reader, and was particularly interested in history. He loved a good meal and good conversation with friends. However, his greatest joys in life were his daughter and grandson.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Samantha Kunna, and grandson, Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. – noon at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Ryssby Cemetery in Longmont, Colorado.

Jim was our friend, hes been like family for many many years and we are saddened to hear of his passing. God has gained another amazing gentle, kind, strong, smart angel. Jim you will be truly missed. We love you so very much, fly high our New angel. Thank you for being so kind and apart of our family. We send prayers to his daughter Sam and son Mason and to his friends. God bless you Jim and till we meet again. For this is NOT goodbye but see you later.
