Obituary

Judith Evelyn Yoder, primarily known as Evelyn Yoder passed from this Earth October 26, 2019 peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Winnetka, IL on February 14th, 1939. She was affectionately known to her family as the world's biggest Valentine.

Evelyn loved many things, and over the span of her life, she was known for handmade doll furniture, homemade candy and lollipops. She enjoyed drawing Christmas cards to tell the story of the year. Her great love in life was her husband, and antique Christmas ornaments and decorations. In that pursuit, she was a well-loved and respected member of the Golden Glow of Christmas Past. She was also known for her humor and sharp wit.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John. She is survived by her sons, Matthew and Chris;, daughters-in-law Christi and Amy,; and grandchildren Anna and Ethan Yoder, all of Colorado.

Evelyn and John were dear friends and fellow antiquers.. Even though we live in Indiana, we saw John and Evelyn a few times a year, usually on way to Golden Glow and then on way home to share their purchases. We often toured local shops and even an occasional big show in Indianapolis. We always ate at least one meal at First Wok in Terre Haute., we all liked Chinese and frequently shared our entrees. We loved their stories with both talking at same time and often completing each other’s sentences. The world is a poorer place without them in it.

We will miss you dearly. We have missed you at the conventions the past few years. We always loved getting together, chatting and having a great time. I know you weren't having any fun anymore....
Our favorite memory of you at convention was when you came out of the ladies room after you had just realized that the ladies on your, new to you, Hawaiian shirt were naked. The look on you face was priceless...and by God you kept on wearing it year after year... Love you our dear friend We loved you and John Our deepest condolences to your family
