Mabel Agnes Center Boehm was born in Gosneyville, Kentucky on July 22, 1923 to Daniel Center, Sr. and Allie Ruth Tutt Center.
She died in Boulder, Colorado on February 11, 2018 at Morning Star Assisted Living and Memory Care of Boulder.
Mabel is survived by one brother Luther Center (wife Yvonne), three children: Kathie Quinones (husband William), Paul Boehm (wife Delores), and Debbie Eubanks, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Karlheinz (Karl) Boehm, daughter Barbara, sister Bernice Center Robertson, sister Vivian Center Landis, and brother Daniel Center Jr.

Mabel was a caring, generous person who always tried to meet other people's needs above her own needs. Her kindness touched 100's of people and her legendary cooking touched thousands. She grew up in Berea, KY where she met her husband Karl and graduated from Berea College with degrees in home economics and sociology. After WW2 they served with the US state department in Europe more than five years, and then moved to Colorado to begin building Peaceful Valley Guest Lodge and Dude Ranch that would become a favorite family vacation destination for 100's of families for over 41+ years. Her family-style meals were renowned to all their thousands of guests. Most of her time was spent preparing meals for 100-200 guests weekly and 50 or so staff members every summer. During the early years she taught the school at Ward during the winter months with as many as 12 grade levels at a time. After her husband Karl died in 1993, she continued to run the Lodge with the help of her daughter Debbie and her son-in-law Randy. In 1998 she moved to Longmont where she became involved in the senior bell-ringing choir at church. After several years in assisted-living homes, she passed peacefully from this world to a more glorious life.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00am Friday March 9, 2018at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel 326 Terry St. Longmont, 80501.
